Underground Sky?

25Feb10

I was stuck trying to figure out a URL for this blog (yet alone a title) so I solicited some help from a friend and he of course comes up with”there is a sky underground”. So I thought about it and it really can relate to the purpose of this blog.

Ever see “Journey to the Center of the Earth”? Yeah, me either. Although I did catch a glimpse of it Sunday during a short wake up from a nap. The part I saw showed Brendan Frasier et al., falling down a giant hole – this is apparently how one reaches the center of the earth – and landing rather safely in a comforting pool of water, only to discover a landscape of trees, ocean, and glow-in-the-dark birds. The landscape was lit by the “sun” or molten lava core of the earth. That’s how I pulled out Underground Sky.

Complete science fiction (and could have potentially been a little cool if it weren’t a kids movie, and if Brendan Frasier wasn’t in it) but it was the first thing I thought of when I heard “Underground Sky”. Basically – my blog is about all things, well, all things Geek really. However, a lot of what I will talk about may be a little “out there” in the world of what I like to call “really  hard to understand”. So, I’m going to give it my best shot – go underground, if you will – sharing information, and doing my part to help raise the interest of those around me in the fascinating complex world of Physics, Space, and Technology as I come to understand it.

I’m also a social media nut, so a few occasional trends / topics around that media as well.
